What happens when you marry both form and function?
We've all lived the struggle when it comes to products made for kids.
Sure, they're functional, but do they have to look quite so... kiddish?
That's what inspired mama Kie Low, the founder of Mils and Key
Shortly after she had her first baby, Mila, she hunted high and low for a pacifier clip which had BOTH form and function.
"But beautifully designed wooden beaded clips were SO hard to find locally. I could only find them on Etsy for almost RM120 including shipping," shares Kie.
So frustrated from her search for the elusive perfect baby pacifier clip, she decided that she had to take matters into her own hands.
And so Mils and Key was born - a brand revolving around thoughtfully designed baby and children essentials for modern Malaysian parents.
Kie's main priority? Being intentional about what she introduces into the brand.
Her products have to serve a strong purpose, be ethically sourced, AND be stylish and easy one the eyes as well.
"I can now proudly say what started as a search for modern baby things for my own daughter has turned into a journey that I hope to share with other new parents!"
Designed for real-life parenting
To Kie, products that are designed to fit naturally into family life can quietly take a little pressure off everyday parenting.
Essentials such as a really good changing mat that's always packed in your bag. It's the one you reach for when your baby needs a change outside, and the one you throw into the washing machine for an effortless clean later.
As parents, we know it’s often the little things that make the biggest difference.
Speaking as mothers, functionality matters... but so do aesthetics. There's something satisfying on a soul-deep level to find a product that ticks both boxes.

Quality tested by her own children
One thing we appreciated about Kie’s story is that she didn’t rush the process.
Her products went through multiple rounds of refinement and testing, including being tested by her own children first.
And as they grow, so do the collections.
Their daily routines and real-life needs naturally inspire many of our products, and they are often the first to test them at home.
Kie intentionally curates her collections to solve a real need, purpose and support a certain stage of childhood, or bring comfort and ease into daily parenting moments.
"For me, curating the collection has never been about adding products for the sake of variety," she says.
Instead, she derives inspiration from her children, such as with the Animal Bamboo Pillow (currently sold out!) - fluffy, cooling, and designed to be a child's everyday companion.
"The animal faces also encourage children to pretend play,imagine, and create their own little comforting moments with it," said Kie.
Good news - she's working on bringing the pillow range back soon - better and improved!
